Hard
work pays off
EIGHT Traditional Credit Union staff were presented with awards
from Minister Syd Stirling at a special ceremony on Wednesday 12th
September 2007. George Miaodis, Evelyn White, Gary Hamilton and
Kylie Boyd, who are all based in the Darwin office, were presented
with their Certificate II in Financial Services. Raelene Ratja,
formerly from Milingimbi, Lizzie Minythili, from Ramingining, Roslyn
Wunungmurra, from Gapuwiyak, and Raina Rogers, from Ngukurr, were
all presented with special awards in recognition of their commitment
to training, hard work and display of leadership throughout their
employment. In presenting the awards, Minister Syd Stirling said
these people had a lot to be proud of. "Everyone who received
awards has worked really hard and has shown what commitment and
dedication can achieve," he said. "They are wonderful
role models, not only for their colleagues, but also for their communities."
CDU Scholarship Winners announced
TCU recently selected the first ever winners of the TCU/CDU Indigenous
Student Scholarships. The following three students will receive
funding from TCU to complete their studies during the 2007 academic
year.
- Grant Thompson from Ngukurr who is studying Certificate II in
Engineering
- Rikiesha Daniels from Darwin who is studying Certificate IV
in Community Services and Health
- Francesca Bennett from Darwin who is studying a Bachelor of
Behavioural Science.
